   Proposal Description:
   This proposal will examine the effects of medication use on imaging, cognitive,   and clinical measures associated with Alzheimer's disease. We will pursue the     objective that the use of common medications used to treat age-associated         diseases such as high cholesterol will modify an individual's risk for            developing Alzheimer's disease. Modifiers of risk will include brain volume,      genetic profile, and cognitive function. This work will advance our               understanding of the main effects and interactions between multiple deleterious   and protective factors observed in Alzheimer's disease.    We request the raw T1 MRI scans to examine regional differences in brain volume between individuals with different genetic risk for developing Alzheimer?s disease. Judy Pa, study PI, has a PhD in cognitive neuroscience and possesses 14 years of experience in analyzing MR images. She will guide and supervise all analyses at the Stevens Institute for Neuroimaging and Informatics and will use super-computing resources at the institute. We will use FreeSurfer software to analyze the data.
